Changes and corrections

This site promises that when it is wrong, it says so, dated, in public. This is where. Nothing is silently rewritten: a correction names what was wrong and what it says now.

Corrections received from readers so far: none. Corrections we have had to make to our own pages: two, both below, both live for ten days before our own review caught them. The four things we know we have not settled are listed with the sources.

A named contact for reporting errors is coming, and this paragraph is the only place on the site that says so. Until the address exists, the honest state of the mechanism is: the policy exists, the channel does not yet. Closing that gap will be the log's next entry.

This log has a feed, so corrections can be followed without our holding anyone's address.

The log

  1. 24 August 2026

    Change

A feed of this log at /changes.xml, so corrections can be followed without visiting. Calendar files for the events. And a printable classroom page at /learn/, built only from the sourced material already on the site.

  2. 21 August 2026

    Correction

The biography and the timeline said Duke was fifty when he married Nadine Alexander on 2 August 1940. He was born on 24 August 1890, so he was three weeks short of fifty. Both pages now follow the arithmetic. Caught in our own review, not by a reader, which still counts.

  3. 21 August 2026

    Correction

The walking page gave the distance from the statue to Kālia as about 1.5 km. The page's own introduction says a mile and a half, which is right; the stop now reads about 2.5 km. A unit slip, live since 11 August.

  4. 21 August 2026

    Change

Redesign. Self-hosted type carrying the ʻokina and kahakō in every weight, a timeline page, a plain-answers page, this page, and a sources page. Cross-links added throughout; the homepage no longer claims the biography is still to come when it has existed since launch, which was our error and sat there for ten days.

  5. 18 August 2026

    Change

alohatoyou.com went live on its own domain.

  6. 11 August 2026

    Change

First publication: the statue pages, events, and the account of who runs this site and of how Duke’s name became property. The biography, the aloha page, the films page and the giving page followed the same week.
