- The day he died, 1968. His ashes went into the water off Waikīkī.
- 14 June
- The Thelma rescue off Newport Beach, 1925. Eight brought in on his board.
- 11 August
- The Honolulu Harbour swim, 1911. A hundred yards in 55.4 seconds, and not believed.
- 24 August
- His birthday, 1890. The sunrise lei draping happens at the statue; the statue itself was dedicated on this day in 1990, his centenary.
- 24 December
- The Freshwater Beach demonstration, Sydney, 1914. Australian surfing counts from it.
